AMY LYFORD (’86)

is Professor of Art History and Chair of Occidental College’s Art History and Visual Arts Department. Her book Surrealist Masculinities: Gender Anxiety and the Aesthetics of Post-World War I Reconstruction in France was published in 2007 by the University of California Press. She is currently working on a book entitled Negotiating Race, Labor, and Nation: Isamu Noguchi’s Modernism, 1930-1950.

JULIE NICOLETTA (’87)

is Professor of Art and Architectural History and Public History at the University of Washington, Tacoma. She presented a talk at Pomona College on April 7 at 4:15 pm in Lebus Court 113. The title of her talk was “Art out of Place: International Art Exhibits at the New York World’s Fair of 1964-1965,” which is based on a forthcoming article in the Journal of Social History. She has published two books, Buildings of Nevada (Oxford University Press, 2000) and The Architecture of the Shakers (Countryman Press/WW Norton, 1995).
