ART HISTORY STUDENTS AND FACULTY GATHER AT RUTH CHANDLER WILLIAMSON GALLERY
On September 9, 2009 art history majors and faculty gathered at the Ruth Chandler Williamson Gallery at Scripps College to exchange ideas, meet with faculty, and hear a presentation by Tran, T. Kim-Trang, Director of the Scripps Humanities Institute, on the current exhibition at the gallery “Secrets in a Democracy,” which she curated.

Art history majors in the joint art history program will be presenting the results of their senior theses on Friday, May 1, from 3:00 – 5:30 pm in Lebus Court 113.
Come help us celebrate the achievements of our majors and launch them on their careers in graduate school and the work-a-day world at large.
ART HISTORY SENIORS PRESENT THEIR THESIS TOPICS
In December of 2008, at the end of the
fall semester, art history majors gathered with department faculty and staff
to share a meal and hear presentations of art history thesis topics, which ranged from the photographer Robert Frank’s The Americans (Kylie Alsofrom, CMC), the concrete poetry of Mirella Bentivoglio (Zoe Larkins, SC), and the paintings of Jamini Roy (Bipasha Ghose, SC) to Wafaa Bilal’s art related to the”War on Terror” (Jordan Gadd, PO), the artistic production of Dara Salcedo, Kara Walker, and Jimmie
Duran (Hillary McCreery, PI),
and the relational aesthetics of Mark Allen and David Michalek (Anne Lindley, PO).
