Artist Statement
Repetition, expansion and contraction of abstract structure ―specifically through line, shape and negative/positive space― functions analogously to the process of thinking.  The net of thoughts generated by my mind and its relationship to the external world becomes a journey not out of a cognitive rut but instead from a contemplative trance. This state of attention allows me to effectively lose myself in dispensing my personal, friendly argument between accident and intention onto paper. It is immediately noticeable that the attention to detail does not go overlooked and however systematic it may seem, it remains completely unresolved in each unraveling piece.

The execution of each concrete articulation could not stand alone without the language of color, which is necessary for the structure to truly demonstrate its physicality. Though there is this strong element of coloration involved―the psychedelic boldness of neon hues and the convergence of monochrome tones―the form of each intuitive liberation is far more emphasized. The “random” movement seen in each piece serves as a physical, aesthetic record of this self-obligated demand to disclose the significance of procedural matter. Ultimately, by sharing an alternative method of releasing the human psyche, others can feel free to draw parallels within their own brain channels in order to better assess where their instinct leads them to.
